Mary L. Moskalski, age 70, of Manistee, passed away Friday October 13, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on October 19, 1946 in Manistee to her parents Erford and Evelyn (Patterson) Edmondson. She graduated from Manistee High School with the Class of 1964 and also attended West Shore Community College. In her young years, she worked at the Manistee Medical Care Facility and then later in life worked and retired from Manistee Welding and Piping. In 1981, she married Walter Moskalski at dad’s cabin on the Little Manistee River. They had 25 happy years together until his death in 2007.
Mary was an accomplished bowler and was a past president of the Manistee Women’s Bowling Association. She also helped establish the Manistee Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame and was awarded a place in the Hall of Fame. Mary was a Life member of the Manistee Clan Muzzleloaders, Life member VFW Post 8356 in West Point, Virginia, member of the women of the Moose, and was a communicant of the Divine Mercy Parish in Manistee. Along with bowling, she enjoyed golf, cross country skiing, playing cards, and spending time with her grand children especially at the lake without their parents. Mary could always be seen at the Cousin’s Lunches and Catholic Widow Lunches.She loved being with her family, her brothers, and her friends.
Mary is survived by her children: Clifford (Rachel Vasquez) Kuenzer, Anne Kuenzer, Stuart (Colleen) Kuenzer all of Manistee; Ten grandchildren: Jake (Amanda), John, Jordan, Justen Kuenzer, Erin, Gavin Rhodea, Hannah Dean, Alex (Nicole), Amanda, Zachary Conners; great grandchildren: Violet Kuenzer, Aiden, Brady Cicchelli; brothers: Lynn Edmondson, James (Sharon) Edmondson, Roy (Hilda) Edmondson, Larry (Rosemary) Edmondson, George (Sue) Edmondson; sister-in-law: Dora Edmondson; Aunt: Jean Edmondson; special friends: Cheryl Sandstedt, Joyce Hallead, Barb Suida, Paco Kaminski, Jane Anderson; 2 God children: Dawn Lijewski & Chad Fisher, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Reta Racine, brother: Dale Edmondson and by 2 sister-in-laws: Sharon Edmondson and Mary Esther Edmondson.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday October 20, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. Burial will follow at a later date at the Brett-Reed Presbyterian Church Cemetery in West Point, Virginia.
Family and friends will pray the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee where the family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of Mass.
Memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be directed to the Stomp Out Cancer Fund.
