DuWayne Richard Manke, 81 of Arcadia passed away September 21, 2016 at his home. DuWayne was born January 26, 1935 in Arcadia, Michigan to Robert and Katherine (Smith) Manke. He was a truck driver for A&C Carriers and Schneiders Transport. He then went on to own and operate The Big Apple Bar in Arcadia for 25 years. He enjoyed spending time tinkering with cars.
Survivors include his children; Deborah (John) Jimenez of Dorr, MI, Susan Manke of Virginia, David Manke of Ionia, Gregory (Jan) Manke of North Carolina, Shelly (Tom) Nelson of Battle Creek, MI, step daughters; Pam Robinson of Bear Lake, MI and Sanna (Drew) Johnson of Arcadia, siblings; Carolyne Olson of Grand Rapids, MI, Ronald (Sonja) Manke of Marshall, MI, Nancy Christianson of Colorado, Jeanette Ervin of Beulah, MI, Robert (Mary Ann) Manke of Arcadia, Raymond Manke and Dennis (Mari) Manke both of Manistee, MI as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He wa preceded in death by his parents; Robert Manke and Katherine May Mauntler, and by a brother, Donald Manke.
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at the Point Arcadia Club.
