Doris May "Dodo" James, age 92 of Ludington died Sunday evening, July 24, 2016 at Oakview Medical Care Facility.
She was born on March 24, 1924 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of the late Hugh & Julia (Keson) Warner. Growing up in Ludington, she married Edward H. James on March 27, 1943 at Community Church in Ludington. They resided in Hamlin Township. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1982.
Doris enjoyed reading, shopping, being outdoors, watching wildlife, cooking, and her biggest joy being with family, especially the grandchildren. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary at the Custer Gold Bar Post #5096.
Survivors include her children; Jean (Dennis) Dancz, Edward L. (Sandra) James, Judy (Larry) Morrison, Roger (Mardi) James, and Larry (Rene) James, grandchildren; Jeff, Lisa, Anisa, Nicholas, Jamie, Larry, Wade, Brandon Julia Bree, Jason, Stacy, & Cory, her brother; Danny (Patricia) Warner, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister; Hazel Thurow and a brother; Harold Warner.
Funeral Services for Doris May James will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Ludington with Pastor Joe Hilyard officiating. Burial will be in South Victory Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
