Mariette Josephine Stiller, age 89 of Ludington passed away on Sunday May 29, 2016 at her daughter Phyllis’s home in Scottville.
She was born on December 19, 1926 in Leige, Belgium, daughter of the late Henry and Felice (Godin) Francois.
Mariette married Donald Stiller on May 15, 1948 in Ludington. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1995. Mariette worked as a cook for many years with her husband Don at Bud’s Tap Room in Ludington. Mariette loved to knit, doing puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mariette’s family was her life, and she will be greatly missed by her 3 daughters, Shirley (Fred) Parker of Custer, Phyllis (Paul) Sorensen of Scottville and Linda Cornelisse of Scottville; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; daughter, Deborah Stiller; son, Donald Stiller, Jr.; great-grandson, Peter Swantek; great-granddaughter, Marianna Frey; brother, Roger Francois; and son-in-law, Robert Cornelisse.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Mariette will be held at 11:00AM on Friday June 3, 2016 at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington with Father Dan Depew officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00AM until time of service. Final interment will follow at Pere Marquette Catholic Cemetery in Ludington.
