Charlotte Louise Shaw, age 90 of Ludington passed away peacefully on April 11, 2016 at Oakview Medical Care Facility.
Charlotte was born September 9, 1925 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late George Washington and Beatrice Evadna (Fields) Shaw. She moved to Michigan shortly thereafter. Charlotte attended high school in Ann Arbor graduating in 1945. She then went on to earn her master's degree in education at Salem college in Massachusetts, graduating in 1965. After high school and college, she returned to the Eastern U.S. where she remained for roughly 20 years, when she then returned to Free Soil to care for her parents.
Charlotte was a dedicated teacher in schools located in Michigan, Massachusetts and New York. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Zonta Club, Daughters of The King, Cursillio Group and Mason County Historical Society.
She was an avid volunteer at Cove and White Pine Village. In her early years she had a passion for skiing. She also greatly loved her pets.
Charlotte is survived by many friends in and around the Mason County area as well as New England.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 1:00PM at Maple Grove Cemetery in Free Soil with Father Mick Shriver officiating.
Memorial Contributions in memory of Charlotte can be directed to White Pine Village, Ludington Zonta Club or Grace Episcopal Church.
