Obituary for Cheryl Miedema (McClain)

Cheryl Kaye Miedema, age 62, of Ludington passed away at Butterworth Hospital of Grand Rapids on Wednesday, January 27th.

Cheryl was born on September 18, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI daughter of Emilie McClain and the late Howard McClain.

Cheryl attended Kentwood Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1971. She then went on to study business at Grand Rapids Community College. She married Patrick Miedema on July 19, 1986 in Wyoming, MI at the Pennellwood Church of God. Cheryl worked as a bookkeeper for Freeland Roofing Systems, Inc. of Ludington for 15 years.

Cheryl and her husband have been active members of St. Simon Church for many years. Her hobbies included reading the latest books on the best-seller list, counted cross-stitch and most of all, her grandchildren.

Cheryl is survived by husband; Patrick Miedema and children; Sheila Miedema and Casey Miedema of Ludington. Mother; Emilie McClain of Kentwood. Sister; Diane (Brian) Berry of Kentwood. Brothers; Dale (Michele) McClain of Muskegon, Tim (Margaret) McClain of Chapel Hill, NC. Sisters-In-Law; Ellen McClain of Lowell, Joanne Dobb of Ludington. Brothers-In-Law; Rick (Linda) Miedema of Titusville, FL, Rob (Karen) Miedema of Huntsville, AL. Grandchildren; Nicholas, Summer, Emily, Zadrian and Tayanna Miedema of Ludington and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service held at St. Simon Church on Friday January 29th at 11:00 A.M. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the funeral service.
