Patrick Joseph Gorch

Patrick Joseph Gorch, Age 72 of Manistee died Monday evening, November 23, 2015 at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee.
He was born on December 24, 1942 in Manistee the son of the late Aloysius & Christine (Kadzban) Gorch. He was a 1960 graduate of Saint Joseph High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. He married Kathleen Zielinski on April 22, 1972 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee.
Pat was employed as a letter carrier by the US Postal Service for 37 years, retiring on April 1, 2004.
He was a member of the Catholic Community of Manistee (St. Joseph Church) where he served as an usher. He also had served as secretary of the Manistee Eagles #1765, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and member of the Moose and Civic Club. He assisted several organizations calling “Bingo”. He enjoyed riding his scooter and most of all being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; Kathleen Gorch, three children; Amy (Joe) Miller, David (Jennifer) Gorch, & Shaun Gorch, and his grandchildren; Abigail & Bryce Gorch and Mason, Trenton, & Marah Miller all of Manistee. Also surviving are his sisters; Antoinette and Leane of Manistee, his brothers; Richard of St. Johns, and Joel of Dewitt, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Gordy & Myrna Zielinski of Grand Rapids, Bernie & Debi Zielinski of Lynnville, IN, and Robert & Sandi Zielinski of Traverse City. Several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews also survive.
He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law; Carole Gorch.
A Memorial Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Father Peter Wigton celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Manistee United Veterans Council.
The family will receive friends at the church Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until time of Mass.
