Obituary for Barbara Jean Krolczyk (Mummey)

Barbara Jean Krolczyk (Mummey)
Barbara Jean Krolczyk (née Mummey), 91, of North Manchester, IN (formally of Manistee), passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, August 20, 2015.

Barbara was born in Ludington, MI on November 20, 1923, daughter of the late Arthur and Goldie Mummey. She graduated from Ludington High School in 1941 and then attended Marinello’s Beauty School in Grand Rapids. She married Thaddeus “Ted” Krolczyk on June 8, 1946 in Manistee.

Barbara was a loving wife for 47 years, and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid gardener and active in the church circle at The United Methodist Church of Manistee. Barbara enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, holiday gatherings, BINGO at the Senior Center, as well as the newspaper crossword puzzles, but most of all, Barbara lived for spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Krolczyk of Onekama; daughters, Susan Poellet of Livonia and Patricia (Mike) Carter of North Manchester, IN; grandchildren, Christopher and Jason Chmielewski, Kara (Kevin) Klein, Kati (Ross) Paton, Dustin Sturdavent and Tiffany (Matt) Covele; great-grandchildren, Keaton and Kohen Klein, Liv and Jack Covele and Alexander Paton; sister-in-law, Virgina (Krolczyk) Niesen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ted Krolczyk; brothers, Robert Mummey, Maurice Mummey and Roland Mummey; and sister, Muriel Kirol.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday September 5, 2015 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee with Pastor John Scott officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice, Inc. at 15151 Provident Dr. Suite 250, Warsaw, IN 46580.

Barbara was loved dearly by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
