Lorraine Cecil Platz of Cadillac passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac after battling long term health issues, she was 76. Lorraine was born on September 10, 1936 to Elwood and Nellie Morris of Cadillac whom both preceded her in death.



Lorraine was a lively woman with a fiery personality. She was both passionate and outspoken about her beliefs and opinions. Lorraine was anything but ordinary. She was truly one of the most unique individuals you could ever have the pleasure of knowing. She greatly cared about people and animals and although she didn't have much, she would do whatever she could for both.



Lorraine formerly worked for Calvert and Lakeview Manor as a nurse’s aide. She also worked at Riverside Electric and at Chris-Craft Boat Factory.



Lorraine is survived by her son- Steven (Marilyn) Morris of Virginia; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; sisters- Bonnie Hubbard of Leroy, Edith (Stephen) Birdwell of Cadillac, Birdena (Ronald) Phillips of Cadillac; brothers- Elwood F. Morris of Cadillac and Cecil Morris of San Jose, CA; numerous nieces and nephews, with special mention of great-niece, Julie Adair of Cadillac, and great-nephew, James Miller of Grand Rapids.



In addition to her parents, Lorraine was also preceded in death by two sisters- Mary King and Jennie (Poko) Morris and one brother- Christopher Morris.



Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 11th from 11 am – 1 pm at Cherry Grove Church of the Nazarene on East M-55, west of Cadillac. Funeral service will immediately follow with Lorraine’s nephew, Pastor Cecil Morris of Bethel Baptist Church (N.Y.) officiating. Burial will take place at Cherry Grove Cemetery in Cadillac. Luncheon will follow at 2:30 pm back at the church.
