William "Bill" Harvey Lotz, age 83 of Bear Lake, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Tuesday November 22, 2022.
Bill was born on September 26, 1939, in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of the late Harvey and Evelyn (Cordes) Lotz. On January 30, 1960, Bill married Shirley Bradle and they shared 33 years together before Shirley's passing on April 30, 1993. Bill married Marilyn Niedorowski on February 14, 1995, in Wheaton, Illinois, sharing 27 years together.
He was a painting contractor for over 50 years and was the owner of A&B Painting.
Bill was a member of the Onekama Lions Club, where he served as president for two or three years.
When Bill wasn't working, he enjoyed boating and fishing, especially when his children were younger. In more recent years, Bill loved to golf. He also enjoyed riding his John Deer tractor.
Bill lived life his way, up until the very end. "He did it his way."
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children Allan (Cindy) Lotz, Michael (Angie) Lotz, Mark (Brenda) Lotz, Don (Rena) Lotz, and Susan Caruso; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Pat Petersen, Marge (Jim) Veverke, and Bonnie (Joseph Patti) Lotz-Helton; and many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, Bill was preceded in death by his sister Paula Vasa.
A visitation for Bill will be held on Monday November 28, 2022, from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee with a Prayer Service starting at 3:30PM. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow.
