William L. Field, age 71 of Manistee, passed away on Thursday May 26, 2022, at Curry House in Cadillac, Michigan.
William was born on March 8, 1951, in Manistee, Michigan, the son of the late Frederick and Karen (Hansen) Field. He graduated from Manistee High School, class of 1969. In 1971 William was drafted to serve his country for 2 years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a mechanic at Morton Salt for 47 years before retiring in November of 2016.
William enjoyed going to church at Faith Covenant Church in Manistee, taking walks and bike rides around the neighborhood, playing pool, riding his motorcycle, kayaking, and welding.
He is survived by his children Jackie Field and Ryan Field; grandchildren Benjamin Avila, Jackson Field, and Banx Field; sister Jane (Don) Fritz, and many other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his siblings Lorraine Mrozik, Robert Bukowski, Roi Bukowski, Linda Skocelas, and John Field.
A memorial service for William will be held on Thursday June 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Faith Covenant Church in Manistee, with Reverend Erik Carlson officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
