Wendy Joy Kemp, age 71, of Irons, passed away Friday September 19, 2025, at home surrounded by family.
She was born on August 14, 1954, in Kalamazoo, daughter of the late Louie and Yvonne Taylor. She attended Comstock Park High School and graduated with the class of 1972.
Wendy married Harvey Louis Kemp on August 21, 1972. She worked as a registered nurse at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was a member of the First Church of Wellston and loved the sisters she shared close bonds with and played games together with. She loved making games for parties that she threw for her grandkids.
Wendy is survived by her husband, Harvey L. Kemp, daughters, Amy (Jerry) Norman of Irons and Debby (Nathan) Chappell of Allegan; 15 grandkids; 16 great-grandkids; and her sisters April Slomski, Heidi Bucher and Laurel Learn
She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister and best friend, Robin Bawkey in 2020

A memorial service for Wendy was held on Wednesday September 24, 2025, at the First Church of Wellston with Pastor Mark Carson officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Wendy may be directed to the First Church of Wellston.
The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Manistee.
