Obituary

Virginia (Virgie) Marie Sinicki, age 95 of Ormond Beach, FL, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Virgie was born on February 10, 1930, in Manistee to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Borowski) Pieczynski. She grew up with two sisters, Phyllis and Genevieve, and her brother, Chester. On May 20, 1950, she and Gordon (Gordie) were married at St Joseph Catholic Church. They celebrated 72 years of marriage before his death on August 16, 2022

Virgie spent most of her life in Filer City, MI with her beloved husband where they raised two sons, John and James (Jim). She retired from the Glen of Michigan and continued working with Babe's Catering for many years. She is known for her famous chicken dinners. Virgie had a lead foot, and those chicken dinners got her out of some tickets! She loved to cook for family and friends, along with sharing her recipes which were
always a pinch of this and a little of that. Everything was measured with love. Virgie also loved Bingo and enjoyed many game nights with her good friends Barb and Lenore at the VFW.

Together, Virgie and Gordie enjoyed traveling and enjoyed many trips with family and friends. Following Gordie's death, Virgie moved in with her son John and daughter-in-law Gail in Ormond Beach, FL. Over the last three years she enjoyed the warm sunshine, rides in the convertible and spending time with all her new friends. Virgie enjoyed keeping in touch with all her friends here in Manistee; not needing to program
her phone with their number as she knew them by heart.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Gordon and her youngest son James, her two sisters Genevieve Oleniczak and her husband, Raymond "Petey"; Phyllis Mack and her husband, Robert; her brother Chester Pieczynski and his wife Arlene. Also preceded in death is Gordie's siblings Mary Lou Popielarz; Donald Popielarz and his wife Marie; and Gloria Vadeboncoeur and her husband Donald.

Those left behind with comforting memories of the love she shared are her son John Sinicki and his wife Gail; Judy Sinicki; her grandchildren Shelley Waitner and her husband Karl; Rich Vinesett and his wife, Kathy; Keaston Sinicki and his wife Madison; and Alyssa Sinicki. Great grandchildren Morgan Shelton and her husband Jesse; Karl J. Waitner; Marshall and Charlotte Vinesett; Hadleigh and Scarlett Sinicki; Avery and
Kayden Sinicki. Great-great grandchildren Zaine Waitner, Landon and Emma Shelton, Sister-in-law Isabelle Edens and her husband, Darwin. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with many special friends.

To know Virgie was to love her and she loved you right back. She lived her life devoted to her Catholic faith. Always praying for anyone she could pray for and always checking back to see how that person was. She was the loving Matriarch of our family for many years.
