Terence Gordon "Gordy" Hare, Jr., age 85, of Wellston, died April 20, 2024, at his home.

He was born on June 1, 1938, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late Terence G. & Christina J. (Baisley) Hare, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He had been employed as head of maintenance at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility.

Gordy enjoyed restoring cars and attending car shows. He was a member of the Model T International Car Club's Crankun T's of Mesick. His restorations included a 1929 Model A, a 1924 Model T, and a 1979 Chevy LUV. He also enjoyed hunting and traveling.

He is survived by two sons: Patrick (Shelly) Hare and Terence G. (Pam) Hare, III; three grandsons: Michael, Ryan, & Joshua; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Gwen Carlson, and his longtime companion, Kathryn A. Myers.

Military Graveside Services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Wellston Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at Brooks Corner in Irons.

Memorials in Gordy's name may be directed to Homeward Bound or the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
