Sherry L. Rutowski, age 74, of Norwalk passed away on June 11, 2022 in the comfort of her own home after a long hard fight with cancer.

Sherry was born on August 29, 1947 in Manistee to the late James and Effa (McCary) Maue. Sherry graduated from Onekama High School in 1965. She married Dennis Rutowski on October 15, 1966 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Onekama. Sherry was a homemaker and then worked at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility before enjoying retirement.

Sherry was loved by her family. She enjoyed attending her grandkids activities. She was an avid coffee drinker. She loved horses, trips to the casino, and going to auctions. Sherry was famous for her cherry squares, taco salad, and Christmas cookies. Her favorite saying was, "because I can."

Sherry is survived by her children, Todd (Terri) Rutowski, Tina (Scott) Zygmuntowski, and Troy (Lisa) Rutowski; her grandchildren, Tayler (Sarah) Fraly, Paige (Cody) Purgiel, and Colin, Bode, Dominic, and Chloe Zygmuntowski; great-grandchildren, Owen and Miah Fraly; honorary grandchildren, Korbyn, Kolesyn, and Kynnlie; siblings, James L. Maue, Betty (Wayne) Janicki, Bea (Art) Wendt, Phyllis (Jim) Armstrong, and Earl (Debbie) Maue; sister in law, Debbie (Gary) Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sherry was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; her in laws, Joseph and Germaine Rutowski; sister Rose Ann Maue; and brother in law and sister in law, David and Paula Rutowski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee with Father Ruben Munoz celebrant. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again Friday June 24th from 10:00 AM until time of Mass.
