Sherry Sue
Houseman
d. Oct 19, 2026
Sherry Sue Houseman (Davies) unexpectedly left this world on October 19th, 2026, leaving behind her Husband, Mike Houseman; her children, Jenna Meyer, McKensey Kendall and Caden Kendall; her grandchildren, Alyvia Meyer, Spencer McCrimmon, and Luke and Skylar Houseman; her sister, Jenny (Bill) Courtate; both of her parents, Wendy Braley and James Davies; and her goodest boy, Hooza.
Sherry was a faithful servant of the Lord, a patient lover of the outdoors and a true ray of light. She wore her love for nature and natural beauty on her sleeve, always longing for another moment she could enjoy the outdoors in the sunshine. The way the sun feels when it hits your skin was the way Sherry could make her loved ones feel, an indescribable warmth would surround you in her presence. She loved her family and she enjoyed her job as a Post Master at the Lake City Post Office but more than anything she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She always reserved time for watching their games and taking them camping. They enjoyed baking, gardening and bee keeping with her, among many other things.
Sherry was the type of person to encourage you to follow your dreams. She knew there was a divine destiny and she was sure if you follow your path it will lead you right where you need to be. She always had big ideas and dreamed of the day she would retire and travel the country with her family. Sherry’s soul was meant to wander, to explore and to find. She loved the journey and could always appreciate the little obstacles that might come up along the way.
Sherry was preceded in death and welcomed to heaven’s company by: her brother, James (Bo) Davies; step-brother, Matthew Braley; her step-father, Larry Braley; and step-mother, Mary Davies. Her memory will live on through her children and grandchildren who will carry her spirit with them every day. In hardship and happiness, may her family find the strength to carry on in her honor and follow their divine paths until they meet again.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Oak Grove Funeral Home at 309 W. Parkdale, Manistee, MI. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM until the time of service with a luncheon to follow. Sherry will be laid to rest at Sherman-Mesick Cemetery, burial day and time is to be determined. The family welcomes guests to bring any written stories to be shared for her children to enjoy in the future.
Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center, in Manistee, is in charge of arrangements.
