Obituary

Sharon Ann Schrink, 83, of Manistee, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026. She was born April 29, 1943, in Manistee, the daughter of Clarence and Doris (Janowiak) Miller.

Sharon was employed at West Shore Hospital, in Manistee, for well over 30 years, where she worked as a desk clerk among various other positions. Later in life, Sharon was a Manager at the Super 8 Hotel, also located in Manistee, until her retirement.

In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, being involved in several women’s leagues. Sharon also was the pitcher for the hospital's women’s softball team, The West Shore Casualties. She loved the summer sun and her days spent at the beach. Sharon’s favorite activities were traveling, doing crossword puzzles, and listening to Neil Diamond. She was a huge Green Bay Packers fan and would often boast of their wins and loved to talk football with her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whether in person or catching up on FaceTime, and making silly faces with her great-grandchildren, those video calls brought her immense joy. Sharon cherished the time spent with her family and her friends. Her friends were a strong source of support for her in her later years.

Sharon is survived by: her daughters, Michelle (Michael) Toepfer-Schultz and Melissa (Jason) Thomas; sister, Deborah Batzer; grandchildren, Rachael (Daniel) Boocher, Nicholas (Sarah) Toepfer, Spencer (Mariah) Toepfer, Allie Thomas, and Gannon Thomas; great-grandchildren, Aiden Boocher, Amelia Boocher, and Leo Toepfer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by: her parents, Clarence “Mickey” and Doris Miller; son-in-law, Eric Toepfer; and brother-in-law, the Honorable Judge James Batzer.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a time for sharing starting at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 309 W. Parkdale Avenue, Manistee, MI 49660. In accordance with Sharon’s wishes, a private interment will take place in Mount Carmel Cemetery, where she will be placed alongside of her parents' gravesite.
