Ronald L. Jud, 77, of Manistee, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023, at home.
He was born in Detroit and grew up in Dearborn, Michigan.
After graduating from Fordson High School, he attended Michigan Technological University, earning a degree in mechanical engineering. His entire career was spent with Ford Motor Company in the casting division. He worked in the Dearborn Specialty Foundry, the Cleveland Casting Plant, and the Essex Aluminum Plant. Early on in his career, he also served with the Michigan National Guard.
Over the course of his life, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially loved being a father and grandfather. He loved participating in and watching sports, spending time fishing, hunting, playing racquetball, tennis, and golf, traveling, making pies, and watching football, hockey, and baseball. Ron especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in their sports and activities. He also enjoyed going to the theater with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen, his children, Brad (Patsy), Annie (Mark), and Molly (Greg), his brother, Bob, and his grandchildren, Evan, Kyle, Amelia and Graham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Walter Jud.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at St. Joseph Church in Manistee with Reverend Mitchel Roman, celebrant. Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The burial will occur after at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, with lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Ron's memory for the Lighthouse Pregnancy Center in Manistee, Michigan or to Hospice of Michigan.
