Ronald Clare Heys, 83, of Harrietta, Michigan went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 11, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones and family, after a battle with cancer. Ron's belief in God grew stronger with his cancer. He surrendered his body into God's hands in December of 2023 and almost immediately had peace come over him. Death feels like a loss, but it is much more – it's the gain of eternal life. God's gift to Ron was 10 more months of life on his beloved land and cabin. Each day was a blessing!
Ron was born on March 10, 1941, to Adrian and Marjory in Grand Rapids. He worked in the automotive industry and was known by friends and family as an avid outdoorsman and hobby farmer. Ron loved to hunt and fish. Ron could always catch walleye while others in his boat would catch perch and bass. He was able to retire at his cabin in Northern Michigan, which he absolutely loved.
He was preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Heys and brother Adrian Heys.
Ron is survived by his brother David Heys (Marilyn), son Timothy (Jane) Heys, son Thomas (Jennifer) Heys, and special friend Linda Swift.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am Saturday October 19, 2024, at the pond on Ron's property: 22175 Peterson Creek Rd. Harrietta, Mi 49638
Coffee and light refreshments to be provided.
