Ronald John Bytwerk, age 82 of Manistee, formerly of Muskegon, passed away on Monday August 26, 2024, in the comfort of his home.
Born on February 24, 1942, in Muskegon, Michigan, Ron was the son of the late John and Jeanne (Sterenberg) Bytwerk. He graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School. He married the love of his life, Judy Kay Cook, on December 5, 1963, in Muskegon. They shared over 60 years together.
Ron had owned several businesses. He retired from Johnson Technology when he was 55 years old.
He enjoyed grilling, rooting for the Detroit Lions and Tigers and the Spartans, and cheering on his grandkids in their activities. Ron took on leadership roles in the communities in which he resided.
Ron will be dearly missed by his wife, Judy Bytwerk; daughters Linda Lawton and Sara (Pat) Workman; son Brian (Cindy) Bytwerk; grandchildren Nicole (Mark) Keiser, Amber (Collin) Hubbell, Derek (Megan) Merkins, Adam Workman, and Eli Workman; great grandchildren Palmer & Lucas Hubbell and Abigail Merkins; sister Barbara (Henry) VanderVeen; brother Jack (Jeannette) Bytwerk; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son-in-law Dan Lawton.
A Memorial Service for Ron will be held on Wednesday September 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Bridges Church of Manistee with Pastor Dan Barkholz officiating.
