Richard Samuel Haner, age 87, of Manistee, peacefully passed away on Monday November 29, 2021, at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.
Dick was born on August 17, 1934, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of the late Samuel (Grace) Haner and Olive Sparks. He attended Kelloggsville schools. Dick married Bonnie Jean Colegrove on November 1, 1952, in Grand Rapids at the Missionary Church. They shared 68 wonderful years together before Bonnie's passing on June 8, 2021.
Dick was a jack of all trades. He worked in the construction business with his father at Sam Haner & Sons and was a minister. He was a proud servant of the apostolic ministry.
Dick was a fantastic musician; he could play any instrument that he picked up and had a beautiful singing voice. He even had a published record, Heaven's Troubadours. When he wasn't playing music, Dick loved to spend his time going to church, fishing, tinkering on cars, going to the races, and most of all praying. Dick loved his family dearly; they were everything to him.
He will be deeply missed by his children Rick Haner, Laura Haner, Michael (Mary) Haner, John (Roberta) Haner, Victoria (Gary) Harvey, Vincent (Tracey) Haner, Joliene (Rui) Cardoso, and Geri Haner; his sister Karen Fabian; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends.
Besides for his parents and his wife, Bonnie, Dick is preceded in death by his daughter Judith; daughter-in-law Brenda; granddaughter Evelyn; and his brothers Robert and Bud Haner.
Funeral services for Dick will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday December 4, 2021, at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday December 3, 2021, at Oak Grove Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
Memorial contributions in memory of Dick may be directed to Free Soil Pentecostal Assembly.
