Richard Scott Gardiner (Known To Family & Friends As Scott), age 74 of Manistee, Michigan died Monday, November 2, 2026 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. He was a retired pharmacist.

He was born on October 29, 1952 in Flint, Michigan the son of the late William & Bernita (Brown) Gardiner. He was a graduate of Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Pharmacy. He married Delynn Snow on August 30, 1975 in Flint, Michigan.

Scott loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, & hunting. He was an avid reader and published author.

He is survived by his wife; Delynn Gardiner, his kids; Christine (Patrick) Clark of Mentor, Ohio and Jaime (Kiel) Vanderhovel of Lake Orion, Michigan, grandkids; Ian, Landon, & Aubrey Clerke and Asher & Bear Vanderhovel, his sister; Gail Debolt, and nieces & nephews scattered throughout the states.

In addition to his parents William & Bernita “Bobbie”, he was also preceded in death by a brother’ Allen Gardiner, and aunt & uncle; Helen & Bill Cole.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
