Richard "Dick" Arthur Arendt
Richard "Dick" Arthur Arendt, age 80 of Houghton Lake, MI, passed away in the company of his loved ones on Monday January 29, 2024, at Manistee Medical Care Facility in Manistee, MI.
Dick was born on February 27, 1943, in Hartford, CT. He was a graduate of Williamston High School and Michigan State University. Dick spent his career as a vinyl siding installer and owned and operated Poplars Resort and Campground in Houghton Lake, MI.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Arendt; mother, Ruth (Witzke) Schultz; father, Arthur Arendt; stepfather, Richard Schultz; and granddaughter, Samantha Arendt.
Dick is survived by his son, Steve (Terri Lynn) Arendt of Manistee; daughter, Stacie Arendt of Fowlerville; granddaughters, Sydney (Miguel) Hernandez of Pensacola, FL, Annika Arendt of Manistee and Caelynn Checchi of Fowlerville, stepchildren, Sarah Allen of Potterville and Rodney Stark of Lansing.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Burial has taken place at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing. Feel free to share a memory or photo with the family at www.oakgrovefh.com. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Manistee.
