Renee Lynne Stokes, age 68, loving mother, kind compassionate nurse, and giving person died Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital.
She was born on August 23, 1953, in Manistee the daughter of the late Joy (White) Tomaszewski-Palmquist and the late Andrew R. Jensen. She was a graduate of Manistee High School Class of 1971 and from West Shore Community College as a registered nurse. She had been employed as a surgical recovery nurse at Munson Hospital in Traverse City and as a Corrections Department nurse in the State of Indiana.
Renee was a lover of the arts, singing with West Shore Community Colleges show choir The Collegiates, as well as being an actress in theatrical productions at West Shore. She also enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her children; Rebecca (Keith) Illig, (4 Grandchildren & 3 Great Grandchildren) Richard Frank Tomaszewski, Jr.,(5 Grandchildren) Ranelle (Alex) Terry, (1 Grandchild) Rayanne Margaret Stokes (Cory Jolly) (One Grandchild) and Rosalee Elise Stokes (Nick Keyes) (2 Grandchildren), her siblings; Deb Jacobs, Eric (Carol) Jensen, Dan (Karen) Jensen, Mark Jensen, Tom (Gaynell) Tomaszewski, Don (Sandy) Tomaszewski, Randy (Kelly) Tomaszewski, and Brooke (Matt) Lee.
She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law; Jerry Jacobs and Stepfather; Jerome Tomaszewski.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee with a time of sharing at 1:00 PM.
