Obituary

Philip D. Sedelmaier, 74 of Kaleva, passed away on December 21, 2023, surrounded by family.

He was the son of John and Hazel (Zupin) Sedelmaier. He was a proud Onekama Alumni. He worked many years at Martin Marietta and retired from the Michigan Carpenter Union.

He married Brenda Blakeslee February 14, 1992 in Reno, Nevada. They spent many wonderful years together and enjoyed traveling. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed everything about Onekama sports and loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play. Through the years he loved to frequent local watering holes. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool, and drinking beer with friends and family. At times he loved being the "watch this" guy. Most of all he loved his family dearly.

Survived by his children Phil (Mindy), Todd (Amy), and Lisa (Jeff) Cypert, stepchildren Larry and Jeremy Snyder and their families; his grandchildren Justin (Amber), Brooke (Braden), Desiree (Dario) Polanco, Brittany Humes (Josh), Thomas Cypert, and Aiden Cypert; his great-grandchildren Jason, Hazel, Remington and soon to be baby Bowling; his brothers Bernie (Cindy) and Jim (Tami) and also numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary, his wife Brenda "Queenie" Blakeslee, the mother of his children, Sylvia, and his grandchildren Samantha and Nicole.

The family has decided to have a celebration of life at a later date.
