Philip Robert Martinez, age 41, of Interlochen, went home to his Heavenly Father on November 21, 2021.
Philip was born on November 23, 1979, in Muskegon, MI, the son of Philip Memberto and Eva Martinez-Devoursney.
Philip attended Grand Valley State University. He worked for Tradesman International as an electrician.
He was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and St. Francis Catholic Church,
He was a loving father to his two beautiful boys, Silas and Syrus - and shared a wonderful life with his fiance Bri.
Philip was an avid fan of basketball, football and enjoyed physical fitness and an active lifestyle. His number one hobby was pushing his mother's buttons on a daily basis. He loved hiking with Bri and his boys, enjoyed traveling, and even started to enjoy golf with his wingman (stepfather), JD.
Philip cherished living in Interlochen where he found peace and contentment. He was proud of his native heritage taught to him by his respected elders. He loved his soon to be in-laws, Annette and Don whom he had a great relationship with. He appreciated listening to music, especially old school rap, podcasts (Joe Rogan, etc), and engaging in thought provoking conversations.
Philip enjoyed a special relationship with his many nieces and nephews. His greatest enjoyment next to spending time with Bri and the boys was spoiling his 4-legged daughter (dog) Mija.
Philip is survived by his son's Syrus and Silas, his fiance Bri Vanderley; Grandmothers, Clara Patricio and Bernadette Devoursney, Parents Eva Martinez (John) DeVoursney and Phil (Michelle) Memberto. Twelve Siblings: Steve Martinez, Yvonne (Aaron) Russick, Jude Martinez, Regina (Jay) Manske, Katherine (Eric) Kaltz, Kelly (Brian) Smith, Talia Hutson, Kasey (Cruz) Perez, Arianne (Marc) Gray, Georgianna (Vic) Walkington, Lily (Adam) Evans, Gabe Memberto; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Philip is preceded in death by his Uncle Nick Patricio, Uncle Dave Patricio, Brother Robert Memberto, Cousin Bobby Joe Memberto.
Funeral services for Philip will be held on Monday November 29, 2021, at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee at 2:30 PM.
