Peggy Sue Welch, 76, of Manistee, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026. She was born February 21, 1950, in Traverse City, MI, the daughter of Frank and Dora (Carney) Welch.

Peggy’s education journey was uniquely her own, as a testament to her resilience and dedication, she later completed her GED.

She enjoyed shopping, gardening, painting, shooting pool, and had a lifelong love of animals. She found joy in the simple things, especially in the people and pets she cherished who brought her warmth and companionship in life.

Peggy is survived by: her children, Michelle Carinio, Phillip (Stacy) Wicinski, Carrie James, Diane (Kyle) Swan, and Jordan Wicinski ; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Norma Black and Alice Black.

Peggy was preceded in death by: her parents, Frank and Dora Welch; brothers, Alfred Welch and Larry Welch; sister, Betty Byro; and granddaughter, Julie Meinders.

A luncheon Celebration of Peggy ‘s Life will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 309 W. Parkdale Avenue, Manistee, MI 49660

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
