Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Paul.
Paul Scheppelman Jr. was given life by his creator and was born on August 15, 1932, to Paul and Hattie (Minster) Scheppelman. On August 31st of that year, he received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On September 9, 1945, he publicly confessed his faith and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arcadia, Michigan. He then also received the precious gift of the Lord's life-giving body and blood. On June 2, 1951, he received the gift of a beloved companion in his spouse, Marie. They were blessed with the gift of three children Jeanne, Doug (Judy) and Michael, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren. Surviving also are his siblings Gerald (Janet) Scheppelman, Elaine (Stanley) Asiala, and Sally (Ronald) Ringel.
Preceding Paul in death were his son Michael and grandchild Douglas.
Paul enjoyed life with his wife Marie. They visited many countries around the world. They enjoyed their family and grandchildren. He and his wife were both life-long members of Arcadia Lutheran Church. He served as president of the congregation and was a member of the board of elders. He and Marie also worked on landscaping the church gardens.
In his professional life, Paul worked with the Department of Natural Resources as a fish area manager. He also owned and operated White Pine antiques in his retirement.
Finally, on March 11, 2025, God blessed Paul with a holy death and took him home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead.
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our brother Paul.
A Funeral Service for Paul will be held on Saturday March 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arcadia, with Pastor Dan Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
