Patche Ann Wilkinson passed away on February 10, 2025, at home in Irons, Michigan, at the age of 79.
Patche was born on November 9, 1945, in Mount Airy, North Carolina, to Maggie Mozetti Shaw-Thore and William Franklin Thore, both of whom preceded her in death.
A devoted Christian, Patche was a member of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. Her unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life, and her family takes comfort in knowing she is now in heaven, reunited with Jesus and her loved ones who have gone before her.
Patche was a woman of many talents. A gifted musician, she played the piano beautifully and could also play the Omnichord, organ, accordion, and even spoons. Music was a lifelong passion, but so was the written word. She was both a songwriter and a storyteller, with her poetry published in Poetic Voices of America. In addition to her musical and literary gifts, she was a talented painter, following in her father's footsteps and working with oil paints.
Above all, Patche cherished her family. She lovingly referred to her children as her "heartstrings." She is survived by her children: Scotty (Brenda) Roberts, Sherry (Dean) Thore, Lori Pursley, Robert East, David Cook, Tobey Cook, and Maggie (Al) Shaughnessy.
She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Melissa Cook, as well as her parents and siblings.
A graveside service will be held at Eden Township Cemetery in Irons, Michigan, in the spring, with an official date to be announced.
As Patche did not have life insurance, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee, Michigan to help with funeral costs.
