Nancy Marie Miller, age 83 of Onekama, passed away peacefully on Monday January 20, 2025, at Georgetown Manor in Jenison, Michigan.
She was born March 30, 1941, in Manistee, Michigan, the daughter of the late Ted and Virginia (Pachesny) Zawacki. Nancy was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, Class of 1958, and the Northwest Michigan School of Practical Nurse Education in 1960. On April 27, 1963, Nancy married Dale H. Miller at the St. Joseph Parsonage in Manistee. They had shared 54 years together before Dale's passing in 2017.
Nancy dedicated over 50 years of her life to nursing, a profession she embraced with compassion and commitment. Her career included roles at the hospital in Onekama, The Manistee Medical Care Facility, several doctor's offices, the Manistee Medical Care, Green Acres and providing home care services. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Onekama. Nancy cherished the time spent with friends and family, found joy in crafting, playing cards and bingo.
Nancy is survived by her son Bradley (Melissa) Miller of Jenison; grandchildren Brendan, Alyssa, and Ely of Jenison; sister Jane (Ken) Olen of Manistee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her stepfather John Grabowski as well as stepbrother Ed (Marg) Grabowski of Manistee and several sister and brother's in law.
A Memorial Service for Nancy will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday February 1,2025 at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning one hour prior to the service.
Final interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Nancy's name to the Manistee County Council on Aging (Senior Center).
