Milford Bernard Sage Jr. ("Mil," "Mel," "Bird," and "Moo Moo"), age 72, passed away on March 29, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his father Milford Bernard Sage Sr. and mother Anna Marie Angeletti; his beloved wife, Bonnie Rae Sage; and his sister, Sharon Schram (Bill).

Mil is survived by his children, Jeremy Sage (Lynn) of Manistee, MI; Brock Sage (Amanda) of Wellston, MI; and Brooke Sage (Dustin) of Mesick, MI; his grandchildren, Jeremy Jr., Logan, and Willow Rae; his sister, Susan Fales (Jim) of Sterling, MI; his brothers, Rich Sage (Kris) of Chesaning, MI, and Tim Brown (Sandy) of Frankenmuth, MI; his nephew, Richie (Jen) of Reese, MI; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.

Mil graduated in 1970 from Carrollton High School in Saginaw, MI. He moved to Manistee in 1979 and met Bonnie Rae Cabot, the love of his life, while working together at big boy. He married Bonnie on August 8, 1981, on the shores of Lake Michigan in Manistee. Together they built a life of love, adventure, and many wonderful memories. They enjoyed camping, canoeing, golfing, fishing and hunting together and were always down to have a good time. Mil dedicated 25 years of his life to working as a corrections officer. Serving most of that time at the Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee, retiring in 2011.

An avid outdoorsman, Mil was passionate about hunting and fishing, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends on the water or in the woods. His love for these activities became a part of the legacy he shared with his children, grandchildren, family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Until we meet again, save us a spot on the boat and in the blind.

A Celebration of Mil's Life will be held on Saturday, April 26th, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee, MI. There will be visitation and a luncheon.
