Mildred "Midge" Alice Hansen, age 89 of Manistee, Michigan passed away Saturday evening, June 18, 2022, at her home.

She was born on July 1, 1932, to the late Earl and Hester (Beatty) Merryman in Somers Point, New Jersey. Raised in Ocean City, New Jersey she was one of six children, including three brothers and two sisters.

Mildred was a 1950 graduate of Ocean City High School. She married LaVerne Arthur Hansen on February 21, 1953, in Norman, Oklahoma. Verne and Mildred eventually relocated to Manistee and raised their family. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2010.

Mildred was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Manistee. A devoted mother, she enjoyed her family, traveling, and visiting the beach.

Survivors include her four children; LaVerne, David, & Larry (Dale) Hansen all of Manistee and Cheryl (John) Anderson of Holland, MI, five grandchildren; Kim, Heather, Michael, Laura, and Sarah, her brother; Robert Merryman of Rio Grande, NJ, and her close friend; Lori Patrick of Manistee.

Mildred was also preceded in death by two brothers; Clarence "Mert" and Ted, and by two sisters; Elizabeth & Hester.

Memorial Services for Mildred will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Manistee with Pastor Philip Harrell officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service.
