Melissa Ann Adkins-Haik, age 68 of Manistee, passed away on January 12, 2025.

Born on September 29, 1956, in Lansing, Michigan, Melissa was the daughter of Mary Preston. She graduated from Leslie High School, Class of 1974. On October 12, 2020, in Brooklyn, Michigan, she married Brett Alan Haik.

Melissa was a positive force for her family and her grandchildren were her world. She enjoyed watching sunsets over the North Hill on Lake Michigan.

She is survived by her children Nicole (Andy) Benn, Brent (Miyuki) Adkins, Jon Johnson; grandchildren Andrea Benn, Kokono Adkins, Yuna Adkins, Emma Adkins, Avery Johnson, Colten, Paige, and Tyler; mother Mary Preston; sisters Cynthia Bilaski, Linda Ettinger, Raeann Comstock, and Kathryn Randolph; brothers Ray (Lynn) Ettinger Jr., Randy (Karla) Ettinger, Jason Ettinger, and Rick (Carol) Ettinger; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Brett Haik and her grandparents Jack and Helen Preston.

A Funeral Service for Melissa will be held on Saturday January 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee. Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
