Mary Kandrot, age 69 of Manistee, passed away on Friday November 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.
Born on April 7, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Mary was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Wilma (Passeno) Hardy. She attended Denby High School in Detroit, graduating in 1973. Mary married John Kandrot on July 16, 1993, at St. Paul's Church in Warren, Michigan.
She was a medical biller in Detroit before becoming a stay-at-home mom when her son was born.
Mary enjoyed listening to music, reading, traveling, and watching the sunset over Lake Michigan. She loved kids and animals. Spending time with family was what Mary cherished most of all.
Mary is survived by her husband John of Manistee; son Nicholas (Megan) Kandrot of Akron, OH; siblings Robert Hardy of Manistee, Stephanie (Blair) Davis of Manistee, William (Rima) Hardy of Newport, MI, and Judy (Bob) Peters of Buckeye, AZ; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and dear family friends Cara and Chris Burnum and their daughters Kate and Meg of Beulah, MI.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Linda Hardy and her nephew and godson Eric Peters.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring or summer of 2025 in Manistee.
