Martin B. Hansen, age 88 of Onekama, MI, passed away on Wednesday June 2, 2021, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on December 18, 1932, son of the late Martin and Ethel (Ellefson) Hansen in Manistee, MI. He was a graduate of Onekama High School Class of 1950.

Martin married Arlene M. Morris on December 23, 1950. Martin was a talented carpenter who worked with various construction companies on homes, commercial buildings, and churches throughout the U.S., eventually owning his own business.

Martin is survived by his wife of 70 years, Arlene M. Hansen; seven children, James L. Hansen, Janet L. (Larry) Neal, Jody L. Hansen, Chris Hansen, Patricia M. Schuitema, Nancy A. (Michael) Kenny and Pamela J. (Martin) Dziewit; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hans Richard Hansen; daughter-in-law, Marcia A. Hansen; and great-granddaughter, Nicole T. Hartman.

Cremation has taken place, with a memorial service to be held at a later date. The family has entrusted arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Manistee.
