Marilyn Joyce Baker, age 78 of Manistee, passed away on Saturday November 5, 2022, in the comfort of her home.

She was born on November 15, 1943, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of the late John S. and Sylvia A. (Stephens) Colegrove. On January 24, 1976, Marilyn married Daniel J. Baker at Apostolic Gospel Tabernacle in Grand Rapids. They shared 46 years together.

Marilyn was employed as a proof operator at Huntington Bank.

She was a member of New Life Tabernacle UPCI in Manistee, Michigan.

Marilyn loved spending her time writing poetry and songs. She enjoyed being a volunteer teacher for the children at ECHO His Love Family Life Center.

She is survived by her spouse Daniel J. Baker; daughter Lisa (Sherwyn) Clarke of Manistee, MI; sons Edward M. Carter of Poplar Bluff, MO, Jeffrey (Heidi) Carter of Manistee, MI, and Mark J. Baker of Madison Heights, MI; brothers Douglas Colegrove of Sterling, MI, Gerald (Clarice) Colegrove of Wylie, TX, and John M. (Bernice) Colegrove of Charlotte, MI; Sister Janice Colegrove of Grand Rapids, MI; and nine grandsons and two granddaughters.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Sue Colegrove; niece Wendy Colegrove; and grandson Joshua Bishop.

A funeral service for Marilyn will be held on Saturday November 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee with Reverend A.L. Goodspeed and Reverend John M. Colegrove officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
