Mari Dawn Gladish, 65, of Manistee, passed away unexpectedly in October of 2025.
Mari Dawn was born on December 27, 1959, in Muskegon, Michigan. She was the daughter of William Hassinger and the late Ruth (Zaagman) Hassinger. Mari Dawn graduated from Okemos High School, class of 1978. After high school, she attended cosmetology school and went on to be a hair color specialist at Douglas J Salons. She eventually moved to Manistee in Northern Michigan and made it her home for most of her adult life. She had a fond love for her community, the beautiful scenery in the area and Lake Michigan.
Mari Dawn was a loving daughter, sibling, and mother. She was most proud of her three children, whom she raised while dedicating her time volunteering at their schools and involved in organizing many community events. Mari Dawn was best known for her creativity, passion for cooking and her goofy-sarcastic sense of humor. Her creativity not only shined in her early work life as a cosmetologist, but also in her personal life as a talented watercolor artist. She brought color into the lives of those around her both literally and figuratively and will be remembered as caring deeply for the ones she loved.
She is survived by her father, William Hassinger (Joanne Blakkan): children, Jessica DeRosia (Jeremy DeRosia), Franklin Loomis (Ty-Gerald Richards) and Martha Loomis (Michael Harrington); grandchild Michael DeRosia, and nephews Rick Hassinger and Dylan Hassinger.
She was also preceded in death her brothers, William Greg Hassinger and Richard Hassinger.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public service as the family will celebrate her life privately. The family sincerely appreciates your support and condolences during this time. Please share a memory with then at www.oakgrovefh.com.
