Obituary

Margene Lee Lapp, age 64 of Irons, passed away on December 3, 2023, in the comfort of her home.

On November 19, 1959, Margene was born in Muskegon, Michigan, the daughter of the late James Ivan and Jacqueline Lee Haney. She graduated from Brethren High School, Class of 1977. Margene went on to proudly serve her country in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1983.

Margene married Phillip David Lapp Jr., on May 5, 1999, in Irons, Michigan and they shared 24 years together.
She was a waitress at Oak Grove Tavern in Irons for 33 years before retiring in 2020.

Margene loved spending any time that she could with her family, friends, and her dogs.

She is survived by her husband Phillip; sons Billy-Jim Jobbins and Steven Gerber; daughters Jasmine Elek and Misty (Scott) Allen; grandchildren Anabell & Erika Jobbins, Brianna Allen, and Rhyan & Brayden Allen; brothers David (Susan) Hinton and Alan (Dorinda) Hinton; mother-in-law Sandra Lapp; sister-in-law Cindy (Chuck) Sweeney; nieces Juanita (Jeff) Dunlap, Candida Hinton-Tejeda, and Alicia Sweeney; nephew Jeremy (Stacy) Jobbins and Charles (Susanna) Sweeney; and her dogs Zoey, Peanut, Steve, and Poppy.
In addition to her parents James and Jacqueline, Margene was preceded in death by her sister Cheryl Lynn Jobbins and her father-in-law Phillip Lapp.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Irons.
