Margaret Elaine Ledbetter, age 93 of Filer City, passed away on Sunday June 23, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on March 8, 1931, in Keeler, Michigan, the daughter of the late Claud W. and Rella B. (Fleming) Golladay. She attended Otsego High School. On January 7, 1949, Margaret married James Ledbetter, Jr. at the Methodist Church in Kalamazoo.
She was employed as a guitar string maker at GHS Corp. in Battle Creek, retiring in October of 1976. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Manistee. Margaret enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and being a den mother and Girl Scout leader for many years while her children were growing up.
Margaret is survived by her son Ronald (Terry) Ledbetter of Manistee; daughter Dian Ledbetter of Manistee; 8 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law Penny & Steve Hicks, son James "Toad" Ledbetter, her husband of 71 years, James Ledbetter, Jr, eleven brothers, and one sister.
A Memorial Service for Margaret will be held on Saturday June 29, 2024, at 12:00 noon at the Manistee Church of Christ with Jim Brand officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan or to the Manistee Church of Christ.
