Marcia Shirley Hansen, age 90, peacefully passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2022, at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort.
Marcia was born on September 1, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Marshall and Irene (Marer) Martin. On July 26, 1958, she married Gerhard Hansen in Frankfort, Michigan and they shared 36 years together before Gerhard's passing in 1994.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Frankfort.
Marcia was a very talented individual; she could do anything she set her mind to. She was an amazing artist and even had the opportunity to draw for Walt Disney when she was only 11 years old. Marcia was an avid baker and cook and was constantly baking for those around her. She enjoyed shopping and putting jigsaw puzzles together.
She will be dearly missed by her children Vicki (Butch) Joslin, Allen Hansen and Larry Hansen; her grandchildren Todd Martin, Trevor Martin, Heather (Dave) Yacks, John (Amy) Hansen, Joel Joslin, Aaron Waara, Hailey Waara, and Shawn (Katelyn) Waara; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Besides for her parents and her husband Gerhard, Marcia was preceded in death by her sons James (Brenda) Martin and John Hansen.
Services for Marcia will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Paul Oliver Living and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care that was given to Marcia during her time there.
