Mae Jean Bond, Age 84 of Manistee died early Tuesday morning July 20, 2021 at her home.

She was born on September 22, 1936 in Muskegon, Michigan the daughter of John & Veronica (Paulkities) Franklin. She was a graduate of Manistee High School. Mae married Harvey C. Bond on June 24, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2006.

Mae was employed as a home health care giver in the Manistee area as well as having worked for the Manistee County Juvenile Court. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee. She was known for her cooking, especially Polish food.

Survivors include her daughter; Terri Raines, step-son; Dr. Charles (Bond) Batke, grandchildren; Stephen, Timothy, & Rachel Schester, Carmen Miller, Mitchell & Garrison Hommer, Wendy Schwind, Vicky Gallegos-Randel, Simone Linderman, & 10 great grandchildren, and son-in-law; David Schester.

She was also preceded in death by one son; Edward "Butch" Hommer, daughter; Connie Hommer, brother; John Franklin, and the father of her children; Kenneth Hommer.

Memorial Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee on Tuesday July 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dennis Rahn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will be in the Bear Lake Township Cemetery.
