Leon L. Clement of Traverse City passed away peacefully November 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Leon was born on August 6, 1942, in Manistee Michigan to the late Lyle A. Clement and Relda E. Clement (Widing). He graduated from St. Francis High School in the class of 1960 and enlisted in the Navy that same year. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1965 he served as a Lineman at Consumers Energy for many years until he retired. In 1965, he married the late Carolyn J. Clement (Domine) in which they had four children. Leon was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed spending time with his family camping, boating, and snowmobiling. He would often joke on how dizzy he would get, pulling all his kids and grandkids around in circles on the lake tubbing and skiing. Later in life, he enjoyed spending the winters in Naples and the summers at their home on Lake Skegemog.
He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn J. Clement (Domine), and three of his siblings; Sharon, Nancy, and Marie. He is survived by his brother Michael A. Clement, children Robert (Julie) Clement, Sherry (Ron) Koonter, Terry Fox, Lisa (Chris) Vaclavik and grandchildren Jamie Fox, Alison Fox, Kayla (Phil) Brinks, Courtney Koonter, Amanda (Ron) Haendiges, Crystal Vaclavik, and Emily Clement along with four great grandchildren, Reece, Ryker, Zion, and Gideon.
A celebration of both Leon and Carolyn's life will be held at a later time in Traverse City. Arrangements by Oak Grove Funeral Home, Manistee. Share your memories and condolences online at www.oakgrovefh.com.
