Lawrence Hamer's Obituary
Lawrence "Larry" E. Hamer, age 86 of Kaleva, peacefully passed away on Tuesday November 1, 2022, in his home.
Larry was born on March 23, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Lawrence and Maxine (Nortness) Hamer. He graduated from the Michigan School for the Deaf (MSD) in 1956. He had married Kathleen J. Hollyer (Blake) at Bloomfield Church of Christ in Detroit.
He worked for 44 years as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker before retiring on October 12, 1996.
Larry was a member of the Cadillac Church of Christ.
He enjoyed spending his time in the outdoors hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling. When Larry was younger, he liked dancing and socializing. He absolutely loved visiting with his friends and going for walks.
Larry is survived by his stepchildren "My Boy" Jon Blake, Tami Blake Reeves, Naomi Adams (Blake), Sam Blake, and Cindy Blake; numerous grandchildren; niece Laura Huizar (Hamer); nephew Tom Hamer; and many more great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother Jarry Hamer and his former wife Kathleen Hamer.
A Memorial Service for Larry will be held on Saturday November 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Cadillac Church of Christ, with Pastor Gary Leftwich officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cadillac Church of Christ, 6202 West Division Street, Cadillac, MI 49601.
