Obituary

Kenneth Anthony Majchrzak, 86, of Manistee, Michigan, died peacefully at home, on January 1, 2026, with his wife Elsie by his side.

Ken was born on September 4, 1939 in Manistee, Michigan, to John Stanley and Regina (Swiatlowski) Majchrzak. Ken came from a large family, growing up alongside seven brothers and sisters. As a boy, he caddied at the Manistee Golf and Country Club. He was left handed, and no one had left handed clubs. So, he began swinging right handed. Then golf became his most favorite passion. For 50 years, Ken was a member of the Manistee Golf and Country Club. He was recently honored for his long standing membership.

He attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Manistee High School. He went into the U.S. Army and was in Korea training German Shepherds. Upon returning home, he worked at Morton and Hardy Salt companies. Then, his opportunity came to work for Martin Marietta Chemical for nearly 30 years. Finally retiring in 2001
.
Ken married Elsie Marie Schuelke on June 29, 1961. They were married for 64 years. They traveled extensively, to 50 countries. "Ken would go where ever Elsie would take him." When their grand children were born, they always spent as much time with all of them. Then the great grand children came, "the littles" and he and Elsie spent much time with them. For 15 years after retiring, Ken and Elsie split time between Florida and Manistee, Michigan. Ken knew the Lord as his savior and understood scripture. This was very important to him, and the River of Life Ministry in Manistee, provided solid foundations and Love to all. This is where they worshiped.

Ken also loved fishing, hunting, watching all sports, especially football. He even witnessed Hulk Hogan pick up Andre the Giant at Wrestle Mania in the Pontiac Silverdome. Ken will long be remembered for his quick responses and jokes to everyone he engaged with.

He is survived by his Elsie Schuelke Majchrzak and they were blessed with two children, his son Michael and Deborah Majchrzak and their daughter; Mckenzie (Majchrzak) and Hannon Didier, his daughter Merri and James Edmondson and their family; Mitchell and Casey, Parker, Emery, & Reese, Edmondson, Weston and Jaime & Archer Edmondson, Carter and Elizabeth & Noah Edmondson, and Theodore Edmondson, his only surviving sibling, his sister; Theresa and Walt Patrick & surviving sister in laws, Phyllis Cromwell, Brenda Bowman, and Patty Majchrzak.
