Kelly Anne Maddox, age 52 of Bear Lake, passed away on Monday November 27, 2023.

The daughter of the late Ronald and Patricia (Cluff) Desmarais, Kelly was born on October 27, 1971, in Southfield, Michigan. On August 16, 1997, Kelly married James Maddox at their home in Bear Lake and they shared 26 years together.

Kelly was a well-loved member of the staff at Saddle Up where she was a clerk for 10 years.

She loved to craft, work on puzzles, collect jewelry and beach glass, and read Stephen King books. Above all else, Kelly loved spending time with her family and her beloved cat Simon.

Kelly is survived by her husband James; her son Luke Maddox and his daughters Sadie & Sabrina; her daughter Mandy Maddox; her son Andrew Desmarais and his sons Ethan & Sterling; son Edward Platt and his son Rhonin & daughter Elowyn; daughter Alicia Platt and her daughters Marley, Skylar, Amilia, & son Parker; her son Aaron (Ashley) Maddox and his sons Eric & Ashten; Jame's children; Devin & Payton, and Eric's son; Aidan, her sister Alexandra (Mike) Morrison and their daughters Vera & Eleanor; and many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents Ronald and Patricia; Kelly was preceded in death by her two sons Eric and James Maddox.

A Celebration of Kelly's life will be held on Saturday December 9, 2023, at 2:00pm at Bear Lake Community Church, formerly known as Bear Lake United Methodist Church. The celebration will continue after the service until 5:00PM.
