Keith Lavern Rupert, age 79 of Bear Lake, passed away on October 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 30, 1943, in Delphos, Ohio, Keith was the son of the late Ivan and Ella Mae (Dahling) Rupert.
Cathryn Judith-Lynne Rupert, age 83, passed away on Thursday May 25, 2023, in the comfort of her home. She was born on June 30, 1939, in Bear Lake, the daughter of the late George and Florence (Anderson) Iverson.
Keith had proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Sonar Tech where he had received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal before being honorably discharged.
On June 24, 1967, Keith and Cathryn got married at Bear Lake Baptist Church and they had shared 55 years together.
Before retiring on June 30, 2003, Keith was the Superintendent at Morton Salt in Manistee where he had worked for 40 years. Cathryn was the village treasurer of Bear Lake for several years as well as a wonderful homemaker.
They loved gardening together and took great pride in having the perfect lawn. Cathryn enjoyed knitting, cross-stitching, and reading, while Keith enjoyed going to Saddle Up for daily visits with Kris and staff.
Keith and Cathryn are survived by their son Barrie Rupert of Avon, Indiana; granddaughter Ashley (Jordan) Buckley, grandson Zachary Rupert, and great-grandson Arthur Buckley all of Bear Lake; Keith's brother Larry Rupert and sisters Claudette Rodkey, Betty Lou Dahling, Berry, Rozanne Reed-Zech and Pam Beckner; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to their parents, Keith and Cathryn were preceded in death by their daughter Constance Marie; Cathryn's brother Dean Iverson and her sisters Georgeann Shiels and Margaret Merriman.
A private family graveside service will be held.
