Karoline L. Thun-Hohenstein, age 89 of Manistee, passed away peacefully on Friday September 29, 2023, at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.

She was born on January 31, 1934, in Cologne, Germany, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Schmitz. Karoline attended college in Germany where she earned her degree in nursing.

Karoline was a registered nurse with Friends Who Care for 22 years.

She loved taking care of people, going to the casino on Wednesdays, and spending time with her family.

Karoline is survived by her children Raymond Summers of Manistee and Wesley Summers of St. Ignace; grandchildren Sarah, Ailie (Scott), Connor, Jamie, Dennis (Candie), Jennifer, and Andrew; and great-grandchildren Brianna, Josie, Maverick, and Finn.

In addition to her parents, Karoline was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Gloria Summers.
