Karen Lynn Tomaszewski, Age 65 of Manistee died Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.

She was born on April 20, 1955 in Frankfort, MI the daughter of the late Peter Jankowiak and Bernadine (Luczyk) Thomas. She was a graduate of Manistee High School class of 1973 and then earned her LPN Degree at West Shore Community College. She married Dennis R. Tomaszewski on March 8, 1975 at Saint Joseph Church in Manistee.

Karen was employed as a LPN at West Shore Hospital and at local doctor's offices for several years before beginning a career as a paraprofessional with Manistee Area Public Schools until her retirement.

She attended the Manistee United Methodist Church and was involved in several women's circles and Bible studies as well as volunteer work. Karen enjoyed sewing and knitting, spending time with her children & grandchildren, selling items on E-Bay, and spending time outdoors walking & tending to her flower garden.

Survivors include her husband; Dennis of Manistee, two sons; Jason (Lindsay) Tomaszewski and Ben Tomaszewski both of Portage, MI, her daughter; Abby (Jon) Radovich of Moran, WY, grandchildren; Hannah & Jillian Tomaszewski, half sisters; Kathy (Tom) Contreras of Washington, PA, Kris (Joe) Randall of Bear Lake, MI, Kelly (John) Funderburg of Amherst, OH, & Kim Jankowiak of Manistee, half-brother; Mike (Connie) Jankowiak of Marana, AZ, step-mother; Shirley Jankowiak of Manistee, brother-in-law; Mark Tomaszewski of Manistee, and nephews, nieces, & cousins

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant son; Samuel, step-father; Robert Thomas, and half brother; Charlie Thomas.

The family will receive friends at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Private family services will follow with Pastor George Butler officiating.
