Karen Jean Sell, 81, of Manistee, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025. She was born July 25, 1944, in Manistee, the daughter of Raymond and Ethelyn (Linke) Wichtowski.

Karen graduated from Manistee High School in 1962. After high school, she worked as an inspector at Jebavy-Sorenson Orchards inspecting fruit. Once Karen became a mother, motherhood became her passion, and she cherished every moment spent at home with her daughter Kimberly, as a stay-at-home mother.

A devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Karen had a kind heart and cared for everyone around her. She especially loved the time she spent with her daughter and grandchildren, whether it was Friday fish fry night or making sure they had the perfect cake for their birthdays, she just genuinely loved their time together. Her precious cat Miggy meant the world to her as well, they will all miss her dearly.

She enjoyed her time outdoors gardening, feeding the hummingbirds, and exploring different craft shows. She loved watching the Detroit Tigers play baseball and wouldn't miss a game. Fridays were always her favorite because not only did she love that it was fish fry night, but she knew it meant time spent with her family.

Karen is survived by: her daughter, Kimberly Fajardo-Pereira; son-in-law, Kendy Pereira; granddaughter, Veronica Fajardo; grandson, Kanyon (Cristel) Sparks; nephews, Jeff (Kay) Chambers and Daniel (Denise) Chambers; and numerous great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Karen was preceded in death by: her parents; grandparents; sister, Luellen "Ellie" Freeman; and grandson, Jil Sell-Fajardo.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center Manistee, 309 Parkdale Ave, Manistee, MI 49660, with visitation being held at 10:00 AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the family to assist with final expenses, Kimberly Fajardo-Pereira, 602 Cypress Street, Manistee, MI 49660.
