On February 25th, 2025, surrounded by family, Karen Suzanne Budreau was called home.
Karen was born June 15, 1949, to Stanley and Clara Wilkins. She grew up in Dearborn Michigan with her four sisters (Sandra, Jewel, Linda, and Kathy Wilkins) She attended Fordson High School where she enjoyed baton and playing the French horn. She attended Interlochen Arts Academy. She was a student at Western University. She enjoyed working at the donut shop with her sister Kathy and loved driving the Good Humor truck in the summer. She moved to Northport, Michigan and began work at Chef Pierre in Traverse City, In the summer of 1977 she married Peter Budreau, the love of her life. They went on to build a life in the Spider Lake area of Traverse City. After her husband's passing in 2018, she became a full-time resident of Manistee County.
Her favorite activities involved Michigan sports, caring for her plants, reading, crocheting, caring for her companion pet, Hersey (Gursh) but most of all time with family. Karen's home was open to all, and you didn't have to be related to call her Gram or Gram-Gram. She had countless children and grandchildren who were adopted by love. Her concern for others was genuine and she touched many people.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Peter Budreau, grandson; Brennan Owen (Sweet Violets), stepdaughter; Leann Budreau, parents; Stanley and Clara, and sisters; Jewel, Kathy and Linda. And all the lives she touched that are now Angels in Heaven.
She was known for having a (Special Song) for her children and especially her grandchildren:
She is survived by her sister; Sandra Krolik, her children; Tom Loftus, Deidra Beckwith (Tim), Melissa Baker (James), Peter Budreau, Allycia Budreau, Erika Budreau, grandchildren; Lauren Wolfe (You are my Sunshine), Riley Cox (You're my Buddy, You're my Best Friend), Kathy-Lynn Budreau (Blackbird Singing in the Dead of Night), Connor Wolfe (Monkey and Chimp), Isabella Cox (Beautiful, Beautiful Brown Eyes), Brady Wolfe (Why Don't You Love Me Like You Used To Do), Taralyn (Wakey, wakey eggs and bacey). As well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held on March 21, 2025, 1:00 pm at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee, Michigan. Followed by a luncheon at Manistee National Golf Course.
